LEGEND goes Caribbean


FH JOANNEUM – University of Applied Sciences staff had the opportunity to present and promote the LEGEND project and its findings in the scope of a multi-stakeholder capacity building workshop in Kingston on 27 November 2014. The audience included 30 representatives from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and Spain. The high profile workshop included representatives from Higher Education Institutions, research institutes, National Intellectual Property Offices from the Caribbean region, international Organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) as well as the Jamaican Scientific research council and Ministries from Jamaica. The LEGEND representatives Christian Friedl & Thomas Schmalzer placed special emphasis on providing conclusions and recommendations from the LEGEND project towards knowledge-intensive institutions, research organizations, and policy-makers within the innovation system.
